Teach Them Spanish! is for the teacher who has a little knowledge of Spanish and a lot of enthusiasm. This book guides you through practical themed units in beginning Spanish. Students with little or no previous Spanish will experience the thrill of success with a second language. This book is a companion to Teach Them Spanish! for kindergarten. It expands upon those lessons and takes the new language learner to a solid achievement level. Age-appropriate lessons are organized by topics familiar to young learners. Themes include greetings, colors, numbers 0 to 20, foods, clothing, the face, animals, classroom objects, family, community, and the Spanish alphabet. Each topic includes a simple-to-follow teacher lesson plan that outlines activities and includes oral, physical, and very simple written practice. There are many games (both action and board), puzzles, songs, chants, and writing activities.
